OUR PROFILE    

Unity on the Space Coast is located in Florida, near the Kennedy Space Center, just east of Orlando in the town of Titusville.  Unity on the Space Coast is your center for positive, practical spirituality, featuring contemporary interfaith services with lively music and child care.  We also offer classes and social opportunities.  The purpose of this section is to provide overall general information about us!

The Unity movement started in Missouri in the early 1800's by Myrtle and Charles Fillmore.  Unity on the Space Coast, an interfaith spiritual community, was begun in 1980.  A member of the Association of Unity Churches, we are affiliated with the Unity School of Christianity which publishes the Daily Word.  Patricia Wareham is our Minister.

Unity church on the Space Coast is a radiating center of the Christ Light; mighty to attract to good and to radiate good to others.

Mission Statement:

To empower each person on a spiritual quest through the example and teachings of Jesus Christ.  This church is dedicated to God's service and through prayer, it is a place were every activity is practiced in the presence of God.

Diversity Statement:

I honor and respect my own unique individuality and I honor, respect and love the unique individuality in others.

What is Unity?

Unity is an interfaith spiritual community, which recognizes all religions/faiths as a path to One Presence, One God.  The contemporary service is reflective of teachings based on the conviction that God is readily accessible to all people at all times.  The Unity philosophy is to be as God is: understanding, supportive, loving, nonjudgmental and present in whatever way is most meaningful in the moment.

By moving beyond the accepted definitions or restrictions of any one religion, we break the bonds that limit people's beliefs about God and spirituality...and grow ever more open, more conscious to God's abundant, all embracing love.

Unity's Distinctive Characteristics

Unity people are invited to study according to their own needs and desires, to participate as they wish in the many services, classes, workshops and activities at Unity on the Space Coast.  Our church is conducted on a freewill love offering plan.  No pledges are required.  There is a freedom in Unity that allows the individual to advance spiritually according to his or her own level of understanding.  Respect for and faith in the spirit of God in every person makes it unnecessary to set down fixed creeds or impose limiting beliefs.  Each individual is encouraged to follow the Unity teachings in determining personal responses to social, political, medical and economic issues and concerns.  Unity sees worship as serving God by uplifting and glorifying God's Spirit (the Christ) in humankind, in positive, joyous ways.

Basic Ideas

Unity on the Space Coast is here to help you transform your life!  These are the basic ideas that make up our teachings, excerpted from An Idea Whose Time Has Come by Connie Fillmore, President, Unity School of Christianity:

1.      God is absolute good, everywhere present.

2.      Every human being has a spark of divinity, the Christ spirit, within.  Our very essence is of God, and therefore human beings are inherently good.

3.      We create our experiences by the activity of our thoughts.  Everything in our lives has its beginning in thought.

4.      Prayer and meditation are important ways to heighten our connection with God and therefore bring forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.

5.      Knowing and understanding Unity principles is the foundation.  Taking action based on the truth principles transforms our lives and the world.
